Nature’s Best Farm

Desmond Sellars of Nature’s Best Farm has been growing food in Happy Valley-Goose Bay since 2000. He grows a variety of field vegetables and is especially well-known for his delicious carrots!

You can purchase produce from Des roadside on Saturday Mornings outside the Provincial Courthouse building at 171 Hamilton River Road.

Jim Purdy

Birch Lane Farm

Jim Purdy has been farming in Labrador for 40 years. Together with his partner, Marge Goudie, operates Birch Lane Farm on Mud Lake Road in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. They offer a variety of field vegetables along with live chicken, live ducks, berries, jams and preserves! You can support Birch Lane Farm by visiting them on Mud Lake Road.

In Jim’s words, They are open “7 days a week, all afternoon, and hour or so after supper! Just call the number on the sign and I’ll come a-running!”

Tom Angiers

Spruce Meadow Farm

Tom Angiers is the owner and operator of Spruce Meadow Farm along the North West River Highway in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, “…just 14 kilometers from the traffic lights uptown,” as Tom describes.

Tom and his family provide a variety of field vegetables and you can support them by dropping by or calling ahead at (709) 897 5398 to make an appointment.

Darren Dinsmore

Aldercroft Farm

Darren Dinsmore owns Aldercroft Farms just off of the North West River Highway, Route 520, on 1 Grand Lake Road. He is raising beef cattle and grows his own feed.

Aldercroft Farm is currently not selling beef while they continue to grow their operation, but Darren is happy to set up an appointment for you to come visit the cows and show you what his farm is all about!
